Dr. Jamie Smoak

Dr. Jamie Smoak began her education at the University of Georgia earning a B.S in Wildlife and Forest Resources. She later completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University in Atlanta, Georgia in March of 2018. Her belief in the healing powers of chiropractic began at an early age as her stepfather is a Chiropractor. She also had the honor of working with her mentor Dr. Jay Erickson who is now the Chiropractor for the University of Georgia Athletic Department. She witnessed not only people experiencing relief from chronic conditions such as low back pain and migraines, but also how relief from these conditions changed their lives. She witnessed adults, children and animals transform and heal once the interference was removed from their nervous system.

 

Dr. Smoak believes in preventative care and can deal with acute or chronic conditions as well. Her sessions include a thorough evaluation of your spine and related soft tissue and when necessary will perform chiropractic techniques aimed to remove any interference with the intention of taking your health to a higher level. Dr. Smoak believes that everyone is unique and their healthcare should be modified as such.

 

She offers several technique options to suit your specific needs such as hands on manual adjusting, instrumentation and tonal techniques. The manual, full spine technique involves what most people think of when they think of a traditional chiropractic adjustment. These adjustments are done by hand or with aid from a drop table to deliver the adjustment. Dr. Smoak uses Activator Protocol as her instrumental technique. The activator applies the same adjustment as the manual technique but with less force and more speed. It is also valuable in adjusting small joints in any extremity region. The tonal technique consists of soft tissue work to gently release myofascial tension and muscular adhesions. In addition, she may utilize heat and ice when appropriate, instruct and monitor rehabilitative exercises, and offer wellness coaching.
