On-Site Classes

Yoga-Asana is the third of the eight limbs of yoga as described by the ancient sage patanjali. Asana is the practice of performing a sequence of postures, intended to enhance the health of the body, mind, and spirit. In each class, the sequencing of postures changes as does the theme or focus as well as the pace. Verbal instruction, demonstration, the use of props, and gentle touch are used to facilitate understanding. Students are encouraged to regulate the breath, hold a steady gaze, be present and be comfortable.

Class Fees

  • All classes are $20 drop in $18 per class for 8 or more that you can use at anytime and $15 per class for adults over 65.
  • College Students, high school and Individuals who are financially challenged $12

Pre-payment of classes are non-refundable but transferable to friends or applied to treatments of Chiropractic, Yoga therapeutics or Therapeutic massage.

Yoga policy-If you are a confirmed student in one of Makaya’s classes and you cannot make it I am requiring a 6 hour notice so I can offer it to a drop-in student. In the case of short notice or a no-show I will be charging for keeping that space open.

This all levels hatha class will combine elements of dynamic and static asana, breathing fundamentals and cool down exercises. Appropriate for beginners and students wanting a slow, solid immersion in the basics.

LU JONG TIBETAN HEALING YOGA

Lu Jong is an ancient Tibetan practice from the Bön and Tantrayana traditions for the purpose of self healing. Rooted in Tibetan Medicine, by combining form movement and breath, Lu Jong gently opens the body channels releasing blockages and misdirected energies. Suitable for all ages and abilities this practice gently works with the spine, the core of our well being, helping to support healing processes, mental focus, body awareness, and inner sensitivity.

This mixed levels class is appropriate for students with a strong grasp of the core principles of posture, breath work and meditative activity with the maturity to work within one’s limits. Yoga philosophy will be integrated.

Course is progressive and is meant to be taken as a whole. Drop in with approval, space permitting.
